The Heritage Wellness Society is a non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance longevity for seniors through participation in physical, cultural, and intellectual activities. The members are primarily seniors of Asian heritage. They will lead a participatory Tai-Chi performance that will invite people of all-ages to learn and experience Chinese culture. Two Tai-Chi masters will lead audience members in Tai-Chi exercises that will teach them both how to focus on their breathing as a form of meditation and how to develop greater body awareness through movement and stretching. Representatives from the Heritage Wellness Society will be on-hand throughout the night to speak with passersby regarding the historical significance of Tai-Chi and the benefits it holds for participants.
