Call for Submissions: Billboard Project

AKA and PAVED Arts are seeking proposals from Saskatchewan based artists or collectives at various stages of their careers for a billboard project on AKA/PAVED’s shared billboard space. The project will run from July 1 to August 30, 2021.

AKA and PAVED Arts support submissions that showcase artists’ most recent endeavours or past, encouraging works that consider the opportunity the space provides to connect with the land and community. Reflecting on the billboards’ place in the public sphere, as a visual element that is part of and speaks to the community.

AKA Mandate
AKA is a centre for emergent practices for artists at any stage of their careers, providing space and support for critical, safe, and open exchange. We are committed to creating space for experimentation, artist-led research, and self-determined direction. We aim to build connections between artists, local communities, and national and international audiences, posing questions without knowing the answers.

PAVED Arts Mandate
The word PAVED is an acronym signifying the integration of media artforms addressed by our mandate: photographic, audio, video, electronic, digital. Our mandate is to support local, regional and national artists working in the ‘PAVED’ arts by operating an access and production centre for media and new media creation, while simultaneously operating a presentation centre that exhibits and disseminates contemporary visual, media and new media art in time-based, gallery, and of -site modes.
