Locals Only, a partnership between AKA artist-run and CHEP Good Food Inc. is wrapping up with a Community Conversation led by Justin Langlois featuring Art Mark, Kevin Wesaquate, Yvonne Hanson, Michael Peterson, Jordan Schwab, Tarin Dehod, and Meagan Hong. A welcome will be given by Elder Carmen Blackstar. Chili and Bannock made by the Boxcar Cafe will be served at 1pm.

Afterwards stay for snacks and pick up your complimentary copy of the Locals Only book. Copies are available to project participants and Saskatoon residents.

Built around a key partnership between AKA Artist-run and CHEP Good Food Inc., Locals Only (2017-19) focused on engagement, community dialogue and authorship, and new access to fresh food in core neighbourhoods in Saskatoon. For nearly two years Elders, knowledge keepers, youth, artists, and food activists shared conversations, meals, and ideas for engaging on issues of food security and changing neighbourhoods.

The culminating publication, Locals Only, is simultaneously a project archive, recipe collection, and proposition for continued dialogue and action. Gathered from project participants and extended community members, the wide range of contributions and commissions form a rich portrait of community authorship and engagement around the project.
