Artist Multiple: Dominique Pétrin and Jon Vaughn
AKA artist-run and BlackFlash Magazine Collaboration
AKA has teamed up with BlackFlash Magazine to commission a joint project between Dominique Petrin (QC) and Jon Vaughn (SK). During Pétrin’s Fall exhibition The Living Room and Other Displays at AKA, Vaughn experimented with an installation entitled Chasm Drifter in AKA’s new project space. The similarities between their visual arts practice connect directly around the use of found imagery, the silk-screening process and hypnotic patterning and colour selections. The artists also share a connection to experimental and electronic music; a clear influence on their visual practices.
The artist multiple is available to new subscribers to BlackFlash Magazine. Subscriptions may be purchased online here or in office at 424 20th Street West, Saskatoon, SK. Join us for the official launch of BlackFlash Issue 32.1 in collaboration with the opening of Untitled (new visions) on Friday, January 23, 2015 at 8pm.
