Containment
Griffith Aaron Baker and Lisa Turner
October 28th to December 2nd, 2011
Griffith Aaron Baker (Prince Albert, SK) and Lisa Turner (Red Deer, AB) both address the implications of engineered obsolescence and disposability. Turners takes on the miasma of commercial products through the medium of printmaking, using repetition to comment on the cookie cutter sameness and anonymity manufactured by the alienating forces of production. Baker reclaims the detritus of plastic consumerism through intricate and ambitious sculptural works that undermine the hubris our materialistic culture.
