Every Line & Every Other Line

Pulling together the work of emerging and established artists in the lens based and photographic arts, Every Line & Every Other Line calls into question the history of portraiture, but also makes evident the political implications of how the face, and the mouth in particular, act as a contested site. Working in photographic installation, framed prints and video installation, these artists exemplify a diverse approach to the medium, but also the subject matter. Every Line will feature work by Cathy Busby, Brendan Fernandes, Bruce LaBruce, Suzy Lake and Arthur Renwick and is a curatorial project by J.J. Kegan McFadden. This exhibition from Platform Gallery (Winnipeg) will occupy both gallery spaces.
There will be a talk by the curator and participating artist Cathy Busby on Saturday, September 15th at 2 PM.
