Printmakers unite! Ink Trade is a collaborative exhibition of work from Saskatoon’s own Ink Slab Printmakers and Kamloops Printmakers Society. This exhibition was first shown in Kamloops, B.C. in the fall of 2014 and is now on display this August at AKA Gallery.
Kamloops Printmakers Society is a non-profit artist collective that provides studio facilities and exhibition opportunities for artists working in print-based media in Kamloops, British Columbia, and beyond.
Ink Slab Printmakers is a group of contemporary Saskatoon-based printmakers that includes University of Saskatchewan students, recent graduates and art professionals. Ink Slab was established in 2010 to create an accessible print space in Saskatoon as well as provide venues for printmakers to show and sell their work.
Enjoy some hands on printmaking experience and operate heavy machinery by joining Ink Slab for a steam roller printing workshop Saturday, August 15 from 2 pm to 4 pm at AKA Gallery. Participants will have the opportunity to create their own linocuts and use a steam roller to print them. All materials will be provided. The cost of the workshop is by donation. The reception for the Ink Trade exhibition will follow at 7pm Saturday evening.
