Performance and Artist Talks 1pm
Reception November 28th, 1 pm

Throughout the month of November, Saskatoon-based artists Gerry Potié and Zoey Pricelys Roy developed their own projects in dialogue with Geronimo Inutiq’s ARCTICNOISE. As a visual artist and educator, Potié is interested in traditions, how they are shared and passed down, and how in turn this can be communicated through his visual practice. Zoey Pricelys Roy is a poet, educator and filmmaker, during the residency she will be considering women, Indigeneity and Hip hop. Potié and Roy’s residencies developed through the intersection of their ideas with the content and aims of ARCTICNOISE. During his week in Saskatoon, Inutiq, Potié and Roy will be in conversation, and working with mentors, the artists will develop their projects.

Gerry Potié was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and has been drawing for as long as he can remember. Painting has been a part of his life since joining SCYAP’s Urban Canvas Project in 2010. Gerry currently works as one of SCYAP’s Aboriginal Arts Leader, and as a contract artist.

Zoey Pricelys Roy is an award-winning spoken word poet, emcee, author and film producer. She has recently released her first book, Homecoming, that tells a story of a girl searching for a place to belong whilst facing the turbulence of the inner city realities.

This project is made possible through funding from the City of Saskatoon and SaskLotteries.  We are grateful to PAVED Arts for their production support and Jean-Sébastien Gauthier for his mentorship.
