Passing on an exciting initiative that comes to us from Kristen Holfeur, whom you may remember from SKIT SKIT performances and also from her one person show For The You in the last Saskatoon Fringe Festival, this past summer of 2012.

“I’m writing to let you know about The Art Card, a new arts community initiative managed by On The Boards Staging Company.

In a nutshell, The Art Card is a theatre and live performance discount card available exclusively to professional artists (working in any medium) and arts industry professionals living in Saskatoon and Saskatoon-area. In return for purchasing the card ($10) and providing valid contact information the cardholder receives tickets from participating companies at a discounted price.

The goals of The Art Card are to acknowledge artists and their status in our community, to build a system of reciprocity among our artists, to further share in the work of each other, and to provide incentive to those who may have always meant to see work of a certain company but for one reason or another have never made it out.The first performance being offered on The Art Card is Saskatchewan Native Theatre Company’s The Hours That Remain. SNTC is generously offering 25% off the regular ticket price to holders of The Art Card. You can expect further offering from some of our other Art Card Partner Companies such as: Dancing Sky Theatre, La Troupe du Jour, Persephone Theatre, Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra, and Shakespeare On The Saskatchewan.

Every month cardholders can expect an email about upcoming events, discounts, and box office information and for up-to-date information on discounts cardholders can visit The Art Card webpage. For more information or to purchase The Art Card visit www.ontheboards.ca.

Finally, this is not a secret – please pass this information along to anyone you think may qualify for and benefit from The Art Card!”
